What People Are Reading

Results of the Times’ poll are in, and clearly I was wrong when I said Infinite Jest wasn’t good subway reading – it’s the second-highest votegetter.  Of course, Infinite Jest’s numbers are going to be inflated because it’s so long – the poll only asked for the last book read on the subway.  Everyone else has been through 3 books in the past month and the Infinite Jest folks are still plugging away…

  1. The Times piece was great. I think we readers need a way to recognize each other should we not be carrying a book – maybe our own wrist bracelet?

  2. Infinite Jest is probably high on the list because of this: http://infinitesummer.org/ I bet if they did the same poll next summer, those numbers would drop.
